The family-owned Alioto's is a San Francisco classic. What began as a fish stall on the wharf in 1925, has evolved into a landmark Fisherman's Wharf restaurant that enjoys a reputation as one of the best places to enjoy fresh seafood, Italian specialties and incredible views of the San Francisco Bay.

Outstanding Surf and Turf for Lunch and Dinner

The menu offers a wide array of local seafood prepared with Italian accents. Start with appetizers such as fresh Dungeness crab, crab cakes, homemade seafood sausage, Griddle-fried Sicilian calamari, or indulge in favorite starters including local Dungeness crab bisque, homemade clam chowder, Crab Louie Salad, or baby arugula salad with artichokes, truffle oil and tapenade. Anyone stopping in for lunch can also choose from a list of sandwiches that includes a local bay shrimp or crabmeat roll, filet of sole sandwich, a classic hamburger or a Sicilian Vegetarian sandwich made with grilled zucchini, eggplant, roasted peppers, oven-dried tomatoes and arugula.

If you time it right, dinner comes with a stunning sunset. Alioto's is famous for its crab cioppino, baked wild petrale sole, naturally raised salmon served Sicilian style, wild halibut, seared wild tuna with balsamic and sesame oil, cracked crab, or baked whole Maine lobster stuffed with crabmeat and bay shrimp. While seafood may be the claim to fame for Alioto's, this San Francisco restaurant doesn't fall short when preparing other delicious options including savory pastas, organic chicken cooked under a brick, veal piccata and grilled New York steak.

Complementing the cuisine are Italian desserts including tiramisu, fresh fruit, and Sicilian cannolis, and a carefully selected list of Californian and Italian wines, cocktails, and espresso drinks.

Gorgeous Dining on Fisherman's Wharf
