The Midsummer Mozart Festival was founded in 1974 by Maestro George Cleve and a group of musicians, who recognized him as one of the world's great interpreters of the music of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. They believed that Bay Area audiences deserved exceptional performances of this music in small venues, acoustically and aesthetically suited to Mozart. MMF is unique nationally and internationally and an especial asset to the Bay Area in that it is the only music festival in the United States dedicated exclusively to the music of Mozart. We present renowned international soloists as well as distinguished local artists. Concerts have been consistently acclaimed by critics and appreciated by an audience of dedicated Mozart aficionados.
