An array of sushi and sashimi creations populates the menu, along with delicious, contemporary Izakaya (the Japanese version of tapas). In addition to creative whiskey and champagne cocktails, this San Francisco Japanese restaurant also boasts the largest single malt selection on the west coast, with over 400 available through bottle purchase. And don’t worry about finishing the bottle you purchase, because all purchases are stored in a private locker to enjoy on future visits.

In December 2005, NIHON Dinner Whisky Lounge pioneered contemporary Japanese cuisine changing people's perception of what quality Japanese dining experience should be. NIHON introduced Japan’s Izakaya style menu along side sushi & Robata grill favorites. These Japanese pub small plates are ideal for a casual dining experience in a setting that is unequaled in terms of design & atmosphere.   NIHON is a prime spot for your private event needs and is open to working with all of your special requests.

NIHON Bar offers San Francisco the biggest whisky selection in the city with over 250 whisky offerings, 150 of which are single malts. NIHON is the only venue where Guests are invited to purchase whisky bottles & store them in a private locker located in the mezzanine private room, built for guests who enjoy the concept of bottle service'. Bottles are stored if not finished for guests return visit.

NIHON cuisine is offered in an intimate lounge-like atmosphere in three dining areas, bar, mezzanine and private bottle room. 

Happy Hour:  Daily from 5:30pm - 7pm.   Appetizers & salads, well drinks, beers and all featured cocktails discounts.   DJs play weekly Thursday through Saturday.
