The Tse Chen Ling Tibetan Buddhist Center & Bookstore is an urban meditation, study, and practice center able to meet the needs of any level of spiritual practitioner. Tse Chen Ling was founded in 1990 and given its name (which means Land of Great Compassion) by His Holiness the Dalai Lama. Tse Chen Ling operates under the spiritual guidance of Lama Zopa Rinpoche and is part of the Foundation for the Preservation of the Mahayana Tradition (FPMT), a global network of Tibetan Buddhist centers dedicated to spreading the teachings to those who wish to practice them.
Our resident teacher is Venerable Geshe Ngawang Dakpa, a learned Tibetan scholar and astrologer who received ordination at the age of 13. The Geshe degree was given, in his case, after 25 years of study. Well known for his brilliant scholarly achievements, Geshe-la is a living example of how the study and application of the Buddha's teachings result in an infinitely kind heart and very deep wisdom.
